NSW Peer Learning Hub

Diversity and Disability Alliance in partnership with Community Disability Alliance Hunter are undertaking the NSW Peer Learning Hub.

The aim is to build the capacity of peer leaders and to increase the skills, knowledge, confidence and motivation of all peers involved. We are co-designing new learning resources and provide training and support to peers so that they can promote peer support in their communities and develop a stronger network of peers.

The project is led by our peers at CDAH and DDA and are creating an active community of practice, enabling peers to reflect together and learn from each other. The NSW Peer Learning Hub will strengthen and further develop this community.

For this project, trained peers will:
  • Hold 10 events across NSW promoting peer support around a range of topics identified by local peers.
  • Deliver 10 ‘Introduction to Peer Support’ training programs and
  • Provide follow up support to peers as they set up new peer support groups
  • Hold two events annually for peers coordinators to share their experiences and learning
  • Have a community of practice facilitated by trained peers
  • Hold a NSW Peer Support Conference, by peers for peers!

The NSW Peer Learning Hub will continue to build the peer movement across NSW so that peers can engage with and shape the communities we live in and gain voice, choice and control in our lives.
